Joost joined our consultancy as a Senior Consultant in the Energy & Transport Team in April 2025. He brings a wealth of expertise in European Union law and policy, specializing in transport and energy issues.
Joost holds a Master’s degree in International and EU Public Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam. During his studies, he gained valuable experience through internships at the Dutch Embassy in Copenhagen and at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in Brussels, providing him with an early insight into the dynamics of international affairs and transport policy.
His professional career began at the party bureau of the Dutch liberal party (VVD) in The Hague, where he served as a legal advisor. Subsequently, Joost spent over five years as a policy advisor in the European Parliament. In this role, he advised Members of Parliament extensively on legislative developments and strategic positioning, particularly regarding EU transport legislation and energy-related policies.
At Publyon EU, Joost leverages this extensive background to guide clients through the complexities of EU institutions, regulations, and policy-making processes, turning regulatory challenges into strategic opportunities.
Joost speaks Dutch and English fluently, and has intermediate proficiency in Portuguese, French, and German.
