“The EU policymaking system is fascinating and complex at the same time. My aim is to act as a bridge builder between stakeholders and institutional actors, so as to make the EU closer and easier to understand.”

Maria joined the Publyon’s team as a Consultant in EU Public Affairs and Sustainability. She works on files linked to sustainable food systems, agriculture, and circular economy. Before working for Publyon, Maria was a Project Manager for the Brussels-based consultancy PA Europe, with responsibilities and skills developed in the fields of sustainability, food safety, food security, and health. In her former role, Maria assisted the senior and managing team in developing strategies for clients. In particular, she assisted an industrial platform of microbial plant protection products producers and managed day-to-day matters relating to this.

Maria earned her bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomatic Affairs at the University of Bologna (Italy), after which she obtained her master’s degree in International Relations, Diplomacy, and Conflict Resolution at UCLouvain (Belgium). Her interests range from geopolitics, international affairs, EU affairs, and US politics to sustainability, digitech, and agriculture. During her studies, she was also an intern in the office of an Italian Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and an intern/researcher for the Centre d’etude des crises et des conflits internationaux-CECRI in Louvain-la-Neuve, for which she published two articles.

Born Italian, she also speaks English fluently and has a strong knowledge of French. She is now learning Dutch.
