Lennert Houbrechts

Consultant

“The EU only functions if its policies work for the sectors they are meant to govern. Connecting these sectoral needs to the world of policy is key for an effective and legitimate European project.”

Lennert is passionate about the dynamic processes of policymaking in the European Union and the international cooperation it stimulates. Before Publyon, he worked as an assistant in the Belgian Chamber of Representatives.

He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences and Sociology at KU Leuven, during which he spent a semester on exchange in Galway, Ireland. Lennert subsequently earned a master’s degree in Comparative and International Politics in Leuven, which he extended with an extra semester at the University of Iceland studying small state diplomacy in the EU. He furthermore obtained a second master’s degree: the Advanced Master in European Politics and Policies, also at KU Leuven.

At Publyon, Lennert focuses on policies impacting the transport and energy sector, as well as digital policies.

Lennert speaks Dutch and English fluently and has a basic knowledge of French.
